Puri Saraswati Bungalows is located in the center of Ubud Village. The Bungalows are set back from themain road in a beautiful quiet and relaxing g
arden setting. In 2 minutes you can walk to the Royal Palace, the Ubud Art and Handicrafts market, or Puri Lukisan, an outstanding art museum. Puri Saraswati Bungalow is within 10 minutes you are in the rice fields of old Bali. A dozen excellent restaurants are also within minutes of the Bungalows.
The land on which Puri Saraswati Bungalows is built has
always been part of the royal palace. Puri Saraswati
Bungalow was originally an open garden area where children
from the palace and their friends would play. Directly
adjoining the Bungalows is the famous Lotus Pond, also part
of the palace property. The pond and its bridge lead
to a stage in front of magnificent Balinese Temple, Pura
Saraswati. Inside this temple, master carvers create
the beautiful faces of the mystical and magical Barong.
An experienced, thoughtful and friendly Balinese staff serves
guests at Puri Saraswati. Cleanliness is a very high
priority.
This intimate 18 room hotel in the center of Ubud is newly renovated inside and
out. Great care was taken to recreate or retain the traditional Balinese
architecture and lush gardens, well known trademarks of the property. New rooms
are beautifully furnished and are air conditioned and fresh breezes. Bathrooms
are marble. Every room has its own large, private veranda. The pool is inviting
and cold drinks are served poolside.
The Bungalows are set back from the street in a tranquil and serene garden.
It is hard to believe that Ubud’s activity is so close to these quiet and calm
surroundings.
The Bungalows have served guests for over 25 years. This very special hotel
remains a part of the Ubud Royal Palace property and today three generations of
the royal family make their home on the grounds. You will see authentic Balinese
ceremony and ritual as family and friends come and go. Don’t be surprised if you
are invited to join them.
And at the Bungalows, activities vary from day to day. One day it will be
carvers creating masks for the mystical barong; another day artisans will be
detailing newly created gamelan instruments; or perhaps gala preparations for a
temple ceremony could be in process. You are surrounded by Balinese art, culture
and tradition. At Puri Saraswati Bungalows it is all part of a normal day. The
Bungalows have never been separated from the old, traditional Balinese life and
you will find yourself as much a part of it as you choose, perhaps an observer,
perhaps a participant.
All rooms are light, airy and well lit with
desks, a private dining table and a large secluded veranda. Some rooms offer
high, peaked Balinese ceilings. Views include the tropical garden, swimming pool
or Lotus Pond.
All rooms are individually air conditioned, with newly
renovated and furnished interiors, large, private verandas and bathrooms
designed in marble.
